We could get our eyes on the chaos of the world we live in, but that wouldn’t serve any purpose but to get us discouraged. I refuse to live as a victim; I choose to be victorious. With man it is impossible but with God all things are possible. The world gives us a grim outlook on what to expect our lives to be like; but thankfully I know enough that I choose to look up for our redemption draweth nigh. I am blessed beyond what I could ever deserve.
It is because God loved me enough to robe himself in a fleshly body, Jesus Christ, who laid down his life at Calvary. He went to a cruel cross to offer up the supreme sacrifice: his life, so that I could be saved from sin. The beauty of this story is that he not only did it for me, but for every person who draws a breath. It doesn’t matter where you were born, who your family is, whether you have money or not, or even the color of your skin: Jesus died for all. Unfortunately, our world tries to divide us into groups. The Lord brings hope to the darkness and he is no respecter of persons.
If I were the only person who was alive, he would still have died for me. He didn’t require that we like him; he even died for the ones who crucified him. My Lord didn’t pick and choose who could meet the specific criteria to be saved; he died for all.
It is only through his mercy that we are not all judged. Maybe today you are feeling like every thing that you have tried to do has been put on hold, and it seems that you have lost your vision for a future. Have faith in God. He is working it all out for our good. Instead of looking around you in fear, why not look up and think about the God of heaven and earth, who moved everything around to make sure that you would be able to have salvation. Not only did he do it for you, but also for everyone who walks the earth. The following song has been on my mind lately. Try Jesus.
I Give you Jesus
If the ship of your life,
Is tossing on the sea of strife;
You need someone.
And if you feel so all alone,
And your house is not a home;
You need someone.
If it seems life isn’t fair,
And there’s no one left to share;
All those lonely days and nights,
And things just won’t turn out right;
And you need someone to care,
And someone to just be there;
You need someone.
I give you Jesus,
He’s the peace that passes all understanding;
I give you Jesus,
He’s the perfect love that casteth out all fear;
I give you Jesus,
He’s the water that you drink and never thirst again;
I give you Jesus, my friend,
I give you Jesus,
If the pressures all around,
Keep your spirits to the ground;
You need someone.
And If your body is in pain,
And your health you can’t regain;
You need someone.
And If at times when you have tried,
With all the strength you had inside;
And it seems that you have failed,
Remember on the cross He nailed
All the bitterness and grief,
To give you peace and sweet relief
He is that someone that you need.
So I give you Jesus,
He’s the peace that passes all understanding;
I give you Jesus,
He’s the perfect love that casteth out all fear;
I give you Jesus,
He’s the water that you drink and never thirst again;
Oh I give you Jesus, my friend,
I give you Jesus,
He’s everything, everything you’ll ever need
Oh I give you Jesus, my friend,
I give you Jesus
