“Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.” Psalm 77:14
For too long the people of God have kept silent about what the Lord has done in their lives. I’m tired of hiding my faith under a bushel, in a world where doom and gloom is broadcast far and wide. It was never God’s intention for his people to be fearful, as the scriptures tell us in 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
I am a firm believer that I can be as sick, or as poor, or depressed, or discouraged, as I want to be, because it is all in what I choose to receive into my mind; however, I choose to not entertain that kind of thinking, instead, I read in 1 John 4:4, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” What we think or speak, is what we strengthen. So, we can speak life, or death, it is all in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).
We do not have to live a defeated life. Jesus Christ purchased our salvation at Calvary with his blood. He took stripes on his back for our healing, he loadeth us daily with benefits (Psalm 68:19), yet, I ask you, have you forgotten? Has time and circumstances robbed you of your zeal to be victorious in Christ? There is a constant tsunami of obstacles that try to keep us away from the joy of the Lord, but know this, in 3 John 1:2, it says,”Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
The bible tells us in James 4:7: “Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Sure, I had my days when I felt that God wasn’t listening to me, especially when I was being tested in my faith. It isn’t always easy to be positive, when you are bombarded with circumstances designed to shake the very foundation you are standing on in Christ; but we must stand, as it says in Ephesians 6:13-20:
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
