September 22, 2013 The Best is Yet to Come
There’s something about homecoming that brings out the nostalgia in most people. They remember a time when life wasn’t so complicated, where families gathered for dinner on the grounds and everyone brought their Sunday meal and extra for the guests that would be invited to celebrate. There was always plenty of food, fun, and fellowship. We’d take boards and put them on barrels and create makeshift tables to hold all of the casseroles, and vegetables, and cakes, and chicken, and roast beef, and pork… well, let’s say, there was a LOT of food. The best part of homecoming is reminding ourselves that in our busy life, because we have faith in God, we can go home, a place of refuge. Enjoy this week’s Lattereign.
