^“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven”(Matthew 16:18-19).

No matter what we are called to face in this life we can be confident that the Lord has already made a path for us to follow. I can trust that he is in full control of my life and the circumstances that I will need to face.

My word for us today is trust. Trust in God. Trust in the journey that we must take to be all that the Lord has called us to be. Trust the wisdom in praying for direction.

It isn’t always easy to be a leader; it is even more challenging for some people to be a follower. Our natural instinct is to jump in and fix everything, but the Lord has led us to a place where we must be willing to wait for the proper time to act. During this season of uncertainty it is good to know that the church will stand. I can build my life on my walk with the Lord. For me, my relationship with the Lord is essential, and no matter how the world will try to stop it from strengthening, it will not work. The more I hold on to God’s promises for my life the stronger I will become.

Nothing will be able to stop the church, especially a pandemic. If you say we can’t meet, the church will find a way to stand. It is more than a building, after all. No one will ever be able to stamp out prayer or my relationship with God. My very being is in his hands.

I am forever grateful that I had a mother who believed that building a relationship with Jesus Christ was essential. She always made sure that we could go to Sunday School. If it hadn’t been important to her, I would not have ever had the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ.

We give honor to mothers, today. Thank you for showing us how to live for God, and for always being there to guide us even when the choices we were making went against what you desired for our lives. Your prayers sustained us and the tears you shed for us, were stored in heaven. I know that while your life wasn’t always easy, you were able to find hope in prayer, and so now we find hope because of the example you set for us.
