My first reaction to the end of the year, is that I ran out of time to get things accomplished. Every year I have this same sense of lack. I could have done more, worked harder, prayed longer, read my bible more often, and the list goes on and on in my head. If I stopped there then I would look on the past year with regret; but like so many others I choose to look ahead to a brand new year. I choose not to make resolutions, rather I make promises to do my best in the new year.
I am not perfect, and I recognize it; but I do have a desire to do my best. If I get closer to my goals in the new year, than I did this past year, I will call the year a success. I am blessed beyond measure. May the Lord always be at the front of my thoughts, and my prayer is that whatever comes before me, that God’s will will be done in my life.
Not every part of this year has been easy, but I am thankful just the same, that the Lord was with me to guide me through every part of my journey, even when I couldn’t see a clear path forward. He never forsook me.
In this week’s Lattereign we learn that the secret to reaping a harvest is holding to God’s promises. Want to Reap the Harvest–Cling to the Promise.
