“When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou has put all things under his feet:” (Psalm 8:3-6).

“Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto them, thou art my servant: I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” Isaiah 41:9-10).

We have been chosen for this hour to fight the good fight of faith. Let us not grow weary in doing the work of the Lord, because the time for us to become the light of our city has come. The work that the Lord has called me to do on the Lattereign has been a blessing to me, week after week. I feel that I have been called to this purpose. Do I feel adequately prepared? No. Have I ever doubted that the Lord would honor my desire to write? Many times. But I know that he has called me, and that his grace is sufficient enough to equip me with the words to write in order to get the job done.

What is ministry? A burden? A blessing? I’m not sure; sometimes it can be a mixture of both, but all in all, I know that I’ve been called to this purpose and that I must do the work that he has called me to do. I can’t back down just because the words don’t flow, I must press forward to do the work that he has called me to do. Quitting is not an option.

Is it always easy? A thousand times, no, but it is a passion and a calling. Reaching out to this community through words may seem specialized and perhaps not very important, since the paper is a disposable item, but I’m still called, I must press on and do the work that the Lord has called me to do. How do you continue when you don’t always see the results of your efforts?

“In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good: (Ecclesiastes 11:6).

You just keep on sowing the seeds. Keep on encouraging the discouraged. Keep on obeying the Lord to deliver the message as he gives it to you. Nothing shall stop you from moving forward when you have a single purpose in mind: to do the work that the Lord has called you to. I can’t do it in my own strength, I am not gifted in writing; I’m just available and trying to be open to the Spirit.

I want to be a vessel used by the Holy Ghost to share this truth: Jesus loves you, and he will not fail you. He is always faithful, and he is a God of provision and strength. He is the healer of all our diseases, and he loadeth us daily with benefits. He is our Savior and he is coming soon. We must get prepared to meet him, and while we are waiting, we must do the work that he has called us to do.

Don’t give up; don’t give in; don’t fall by the wayside in defeat. Get up; brush yourself off in Jesus’ name and keep moving forward.

He is still on the throne and in control of your circumstance, so you have no need to fear for he has already won the battle. It is up to us to learn how to follow in the shadow of his wings of protection.
