What do You Have to be Thankful For?

Being thankful for the blessings of God in our lives, used to be an automatic response; unfortunately, for many people being thankful is expressed only at Thanksgiving.

There’s not enough time to honor tradition; you know the Turkey takes a long time to bake, and why do we need two different pies, when we don’t even finish one pie?

Granted, we did overdo the huge meal on Thanksgiving, but turkeys are big, and that happens to be what the boss gave to his employees on Thanksgiving. It was always ham at Christmas.

For me, the most exciting part of Thanksgiving was being together, and knowing for that one day, everybody tried to be nice to each other, because there was plenty of food to be thankful for, and an overabundance of love that holds a family together, even when the world around them may be falling apart.

About gracemorganwriter

What is a writer? Someone who writes. For me, writing means to observe the world in a fresh way; it gives us encouragement when we are struggling to follow the path, and hope that we can keep pressing towards the mark. Writing gives us grace for the journey, and shines light into the darkened places of our soul.

    • We do have much to be thankful for, this year. So often people dwell on what they don’t have, and miss the most spectacular blessings in their lives. All we really have to do is open our eyes and see that the Lord is with us in all things. Thank you for taking care of my baby brother and for the awesome family that you two have nurtured through the years. Happy Thanksgiving. Your East Coast Sister in Law and in love. Grace
